Subject - SFCC Trophy Presentation Night - Saturday 16th January

Details from our 2009 season are now collated, and trophy recipients are known.
However, all names will be remaining a secret until the night.

As always there will definately be some suprise winners, and along with our special humour awards you can never really be sure of what you may get to take home.

This is always a well supported evening for both fishermen and cruisers in the club, and the more of us that are there on the night the better, obviously.
Dermot Nolan, Cruising Secretary, and John Astill, Fishing Secretary, both put alot of effort into this evening.

Light buffet, after the presentation, will be served.

Russ.

Fri/Saturday 31st July /1st Aug - Sun/Monday 2nd/3rd Aug

We are planning to leave either Friday or Saturday, weather permitting.
The trip will be for a minimum of 3, possibly 4 days, as we think it is too far for an overnight trip. We will leave as early as possible before HW at Exmouth to ensure a fair tide around the Biill.

Any interested parties please contact John or Roma on;

Subject - Lyme Regis Cruise - Saturday 16th May

We have a Lyme Regis cruise scheduled for the weekend and I have had several telephone enquiries asking about it.
The latest weather on Ugrib this am is not promising, especially for Lyme Regis. Low pressure centered to the north moving through the Irish Sea over friday and saturday. Associated fronts in the English Channel with heavy thundery rain on friday/saturday, but less rain on sunday.
SW strong winds on saturday, lighter but backing southerly on sunday.
Under these circumstances the only sensible option is to cancel especially for boats that can't take the ground.
One or two bilge keelers, which can shelter within the drying harbour may still wish to go.

Dermot - SFCC Cruising Secretary.

Subject - Dartmouth Music Festival Cruise 8th-10th May

This weekend's cruise subject to weather is for the Music Festival. Fiona and I aim to start to make our way down on Friday, probably stopping of at Brixham Friday evening, and continue down to Dartmouth for Saturday. I understand that others will be making passage direct on Saturday morning.

We intend, if room, to moor up on the DA pontoon (the one Dartmouth side before the lower ferry). Please give me a call if you want more info on 07876 205278, or during the weekend call 'Celtic Breeze' on VHF Channel 08.

Subject - May Day Bank Holiday Weekend Cruise / Fish-in

It is hoped to get some fishing boats down to Dartmouth, as well as a cruiser fleet, on Saturday 2nd May.
Overnight Saturday accomodation should be possible on cruising boats, as required. Though driving down on the fishing day is an option.
A days fishing for all takers is then planned on the Sunday, with Plaice being the target species.

A pre-cruise meeting has been arranged in the club for Thursday 30th April at 20.30hrs.
If you're interested in the weekend please try to attend.

Subject - SFCC Annual Presentation - January 17th 2009

Cruisers and Fishermen always look forward to this annual, and special evening, at SFCC.
And the atrocious weather on the night didn't seem to affect attendance at all.

Your Cruising Secretary, Dermot Nolan, and Fishing Secretary, Eddy Carter, gave a packed room yet another fantastic Annual Presentation. Please remember to congratulate both of them, for their efforts, when you next see them.

Club participation makes the night the special occasion it is though, and thanks go to you all of you for that.

Pictures of the evening are currently being collated, and a selection will be online soon. But if you would like any personal pictures sent on, then please don't hesitate to contact me for a reply.
