Subject - Cruising Updates.

September Cruise West.
Several boats left/leaving today or tomorrow westwards. If you are also heading that way keep a watch on Ch77. Weather not inspiring so no attempt to suggest timetable or ultimate destination at this time - will all reflect conditions.
Champagne Challenge.
17 Sept. Information and on-line entry www.champagnechallenge.co.uk They say entry forms are also in Club but we have not received any so best to enter on-line.
For those not taken part before, the racing is very much secondary to a good social w/e open to all sailing boats on the Exe. Can get a fleet of over 50 boats. Do not be discouraged by race instructions like "fly a No2 pennant" - most participating would not recognise one if they had it!
Awards
Yes, those cups again. We really do want to recognise personal achievement so please do think about passages or cruising successes of which you are rather proud and do be prepared to submit brief details when the call comes in November.
VHF Short Range Course
I understand there are still places on the course on Sunday 20th November. Convenient opportunity for skippers or your crew to get that bit of paper which then lasts a lifetime and which is a requirement to operate VHF radio on the boat. Details in the Club and on the website.
